The Rapid Economic Growth of China

“China’s rise” refers to a political movement directed to enhance ideological belief, faith in the CPC, and confidence in the future (Xia, 2006). The rapid economic growth of China increased its impact on the international arena in many aspects. Turning into the second large economy globally, China has an ultimate effect on the world’s economic and political states (Okuda, 2016). China’s gradual transformation into a superpower rise concerns others, especially the world’s only superpower, the US (Xiang et al., 2015). The international concerns are associated with several factors, including highly ideological regime in-country, human rights violation, power politics, and economic power concentrated at one hand. It would be stated that China’s “peaceful rise” policy is, in fact, a present threat to the world due to the authoritarian power regime and its impact on international politics, human rights violations, and the possibility of a trade war.

Communism in China presents a highly authoritarian picture influencing every aspect of people’s life. As stated by the Council on Foreign Relations (n.d), China’s ideological and cultural impact on the thousand of nations that live in that territory could be considered a dichotomy. Democracy in this state is limited, and human rise is constantly violated. This fact could be observed from the censorship in the local press and constant control of the ordinary population (Okuda, 2016). Another threatening factor is the political power of China in the world. The fascinating economic growth in combination with unpredictable political leadership attracts the attention of other countries (Xia, 2006). Moreover, the rise of military power and the Chinese army becomes the hot topic of conversation. As one of the leading world’s production power, a trade war could turn into an economic catastrophe. South Morning China Post (2021) highlights that the US-China trade war led to an international crisis and affected the world to a certain degree. China’s enormous influence on the world’s economy and politics is concerning.
